PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. It carries growth factors that, when placed in your skin, will signal your body to produce collagen and elastin, the skin’s framework.

It is also known as a “biostimulator”. Such treatments are a must in a natural appearing facial rejuvenation.

The process involves a blood draw, in the M Aesthetics clinic, of one or two vials. Your blood is then spun to separate the red blood cells from the PRP, or PLASMA, also known as liquid gold for its regenerative properties.

Areas treated include

Under eye: This area is very difficult to treat well with fillers. PRP is much safer with little to no chance of a poor outcome. It will improve the undereye skin integrity by increasing blood flow and improving collagen and elastin.

Face: PRP can be injected throughout the face for collagen and elastin stimulation. It is excellent and easy to combine with other biostimulators such as Sculptra, threads, and Radiesse.

Acne scars

Neck: Combine with smooth threads to get an even greater biostimulator effect to improve necklace lines.

You will be a little swollen (and may even like the effect) for a few days until your body reabsorbs the fluid. It takes several weeks to months to notice the effect as the skin takes time to regenerate. 2 or 3 procedures may be needed.

While safe, bruising is possible. So, consider this if you have any upcoming events within a week.
